Model TRC001. Triton's plunge router has several radical features that make it ideal for the router table. Its through-the-base bit changing ability makes what has always been difficult and awkward simple and fast! Simply bring the router to full plunge depth for single wrench bit changes--the spindle rises above the base plate, locks automatically, and a safety lock-out switch cuts in so the router cannot be started. The plunge feature is a rack and pinion mechanism with an adjusting knob for accurate depth adjustments and a micro adjuster for super accurate depth adjustments. Twist an insert in the handle, and you have a standard free plunge mechanism, with a plunge lock lever right next to one of the grips. The plunge spring is easily removed for use in a router table. Turret stops are simple and quick to set, with easy to read calibrations. Front and rear full enclosure safety shields increase safety and aid dust extraction. Included is a cutting guide/fence that also incorporates a circle-cutting feature. Weight is 13-1/2 lb., max. plunge depth is 2-21/32" from top to start of interlock, with 19/32" from start of interlock to full plunge. With a vacuum shroud in place max. bit diameter is 2-1/4", without it's 3". Motor is 3-1/4HP, 15 Amp, 8,000 - 21,000 RPM variable speed with electronic speed maintenance under load and soft start.
