Mahogany Vessel

Sun and Moon 2

Walnut, Maple, Curly Maple,Ebony, Pecan, Mahogany, Pau Amarillo, Bloodwood, Cherry.
414 Pieces, 41 hours.

Similar to the original, I added a floating bottom to accommodate wood movement, minor changes to the shape, and changed the sun and moon segments.

Had fun at the lathe today.

Top is held on with carpet tape and exterior is shaped

The top was removed and interior wall was refined.  The top gets pre-turned tomorrow.
